And, I'm out...

So, as promised, I am writing an end-of-experiment note.

I suppose I should recap the state of my main people experiences while doing online dating.

Mr. Cancellation: Never met him, well, due to his cancelling pattern. He should be out of town now. Have fun, ladies on the west coast of the island...

Brit Guy: We have met up a few times. He seems very friendly when we meet up (but not clearly in a buddy nor datey way…I never have known how to read him), but then he disappears. I find this irksome as either a friend or anything else.

Random Message Buddy: After two months of communication, we never met up. I don't know why. I very much thought it was going to happen over the weekend after I returned to St. John's. There was a plan in place. He got called out of town for family business (he provided details to me), and we rescheduled for the next day. But it never happened. We had been talking on MSN quite regularly and having good, long chats. He was consistent in saying he wanted to meet up, but the words and the actions haven't matched. He has become very slippy. I have no idea what happened. (This one hurt the ego quite a bit, as lame as I feel admitting it...)

So, really, this experiment was not very useful to me, all in all. I don’t mean to be a bummer, but I am going to call it like it is.

I think online dating can work for some people (it worked for Jenn), but it isn't for everyone. It's one approach, like all the others.

And, for the record, it isn't like I didn't give it a go. As much as I had reservations, I was open to meeting new people (but not just anyone who sent me a "Hey, what's up?" note). I wanted to go on dates. I communicated honestly with the men I spoke with. And, well, it didn't work out. And, at the moment, I don't feel very good about it. And, well, there we have it. I wish I had something comical to say about it, but I don't. Sorry.

[If something changes, I’ll totally make an amendment. But, at some point, I just have to pull the plug.]

If it's any consolation, you can ask Jenn about my many many many years of bad love life. I don't know why nothing really worked out, but there were a lot of things that were apparently not the right approach for me.
