So, I've been given a "gift."

Yesterday, the following subject line dropped into my POF inbox, which I have represented as it looks on screen:
Hi (Contains Gift)
After I (hesitantly) clicked on the message subject, a picture of a teddy bear holding a yellow rose preceded the guy's message. The picture of the bear had the caption:

[Guy's handle] has used some points and bought you this gift!!!.
Of course, following this was the guy's message asking if I wanted to chat.

I have to admit that I don't really get this. I mean, am I supposed to feel overly moved by someone using points--which are completely free--to "buy" me a picture of a bear holding a flower? (I should also mention that the bear even looks a little uneasy about the situation.) As I have never exchanged messages with this person, I kind of find it odder. It would confuse me if a stranger bought me a bear and a flower in real life...am I supposed to be flattered in the virtual world? I dunno.

Maybe I am just a mean, mean girl.
